The Gen Z Evolution

Why I Started The Gen Z Evolution Podcast

When people ask me why I decided to start a podcast about Gen Z in the workplace, I always think back to that moment in a corporate boardroom three years ago. The executives were frustrated, the young employees felt misunderstood, and I was sitting in the middle, watching two generations talk past each other completely.

“They don’t want to work hard,” one manager complained. “They expect everything handed to them.”

Meanwhile, the Gen Z employees I’d spoken with earlier that day had completely different concerns: “They don’t listen to our ideas,” and “We care about work, but we also care about having a life.”

That’s when it hit me – both sides had valid points, but nobody was translating between them.

I realized that all my consulting work, all my research, all the conversations I was having with both leaders and young professionals, needed a bigger platform not just for boardrooms or academic papers, but for real people dealing with these challenges every day.

The Gen Z Evolution started as my way of being that translator. Every episode, I get to bridge that gap – helping leaders understand what’s really driving Gen Z behaviors while giving young professionals the tools to communicate their value more effectively.

The best part? The stories you all share with me. The manager who finally “got it” after trying a new approach. The recent grad who landed their dream job by reframing how they presented their skills. Those moments make every late-night recording session worth it.

This isn’t just a podcast about workplace trends – it’s about creating understanding so everyone can succeed.
